General Position Description:
The People Support Manager, Bakersfield Operations Center (BOC), provides support to the BOC team in the areas of: employee relations; benefit administration (education and issue resolution); hiring processes and systems; training and Grooves support; performance management; regulatory prevention; compensation systems administration and communication; organizational development / change management; and People Support program/project identification, development and implementation.

Experience Requirements:

  • BS or BA degree a minimum; MA, MS, or MBA preferred.
  • Progressive field People Support (HR) experience with preference in organizations that produce consumer products and have large manufacturing operations. Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and/or Lean Manufacturing would be a definite asset.
  • Proven track record of delivering superior business results in an empowered, team-based environment.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with clients on solving business/operational issues through the application of progressive people systems practices.
  • Self-confidence to thrive in an empowered, diverse, and growing organization.
  • Proven ability to work independently.

    Position Responsibilities:
  • Provide on-going employee relations support for BOC
  • Manage the performance management system (Development Process) for front-line team members, exempt / non – exempt office and management personnel including performance feedback, development planning, and succession planning.
  • Provide leadership and organizational support in fostering our Grooves culture.
  • Ensure programs and processes are in place to avoid third party interference and liability.
  • Provide support for hiring, on-boarding, and maintaining top 20% standards for all positions.
  • Assess Site People Support needs, develop action plans, and implement.
  • Build the capability of our people service providers and our frontline leaders through training and best practice sharing.
  • Partner with local Risk & Safety personnel to ensure site meets or exceeds safety goals and effectively manages worker’s compensation claims costs.
  • Drive development, implementation, and execution of Operations goals, objectives, strategies, and tactics locally; support efforts across Operations.
  • Assume a National People Support point responsibility from our Operations and/or People Support strategic plan and aligned with either personal expertise and/or Site needs.
  • Lead and manage College Recruiting efforts, including the management of the Leadership Trainee Program (SEAL Academy) for BOC.

  • Drive Learning and Team Capability (LTC) agenda for site to deliver Dreyer’s TPM initiative (Grand Performance System – GPS).
